CAST AND CREW

Guang Li as “Nipper”

Guang has acted extensively in stage plays, from Shakespeare to more contemporary pieces and musicals with various groups from school to NIDA, since the age of 8. He also recently completed a short film. His first feature film was Children of the Silk Road, directed by Roger Spottiswoode, in which he had a lead role, and which premiered in Sydney in June, and The Combination is his second.

Many of the issues dealt with in the film struck a chord with Guang.

“Racism certainly remains an issue in Australia, and is more prevalent than people may think. I've heard many off hand comments which were offensive and I have had unprovoked racial slurs from people walking down the same street as me,” he said

He thinks its an exciting time for storytelling and is confident that audiences will start seeing more than one type of actor.

“Is there any reason the next James Bond type character couldn't be Asian, or Lebanese, or any other ethnicity? That's a really exciting thought”, he said.
